At John Barnes Group, we aim to dispatch orders as quickly as possible. While we keep a wide range of products in stock, we do not carry every variation or quantity at all times. Dispatch timeframes can vary depending on brand, product type, and availability.

Stock Levels

To help you make informed purchasing decisions, our website displays real-time stock availability for many products:

In Stock – More than 20 units available for immediate dispatch.

In Stock – Low Availability – Less than 20 units available; these items may sell out quickly.

Available to Order – Product is not held in our warehouse and will be ordered in from the supplier once your order is placed. These items will follow the brand dispatch lead times listed below.

Typical Dispatch Process

Once your order has been placed and processed, our team will pack and dispatch once goods have been picked and/or received from the manufacturer. Lead times depend on whether the product is in stock locally, needs to be sourced from a supplier, or requires manufacturing.

 

Made-to-Order & Custom Products

Some items, such as customised hardware, project-specific products, or non-standard finishes, are manufactured or assembled to order. These can require extended lead times (upwards of 15 business days) and are generally non-cancellable and non-returnable unless faulty.

Oversize & Bulky Items

Products such as safes, large commercial hardware, or door seal over 3 metres in length may require special handling and freight services.

Oversized goods are excluded from any free shipping discounts offered.

Freight costs are calculated based on weight, dimensions, and destination, and will be confirmed at checkout or via quote.

 

Transit Times

Once dispatched, delivery time will depend on your location and chosen carrier.

Standard deliveries within metropolitan areas are typically 2 to 7 business days.

Regional and remote areas may take longer.

All shipments are sent with tracking provided where available.

 

Delays & Exceptions

While we strive to meet the above dispatch timeframes, delays can occur due to:

Supplier backorders

High seasonal demand

Custom manufacturing or keying requirements

Public holidays and industry closures

Courier or freight network disruptions

 Please note: Not all manufacturers advise us of delays at the time of order. In some cases, we may only be notified of a delay once the supplier has updated the order status.

 

Freight & Shipping Costs

Free Shipping: Restricted keys qualify for free standard shipping. If other items are ordered at the same time, standard shipping fees will be applied.

Standard Shipping: Orders are charged based on weight, dimensions, and destination.

Bulky/Oversize Shipping: Calculated on an individual basis, depending on size, weight, and destination.

Carriers Used: Australia Post, TNT, First Express, Capital Transport and other reputable freight providers.

 

Click & Collect:

Available from our Salisbury, QLD location. Customers will be notified when their order is ready for collection.

 

Sales Taxes

We are required to automatically charge and withhold the applicable GST for orders to be delivered to addresses within Australia. Each customer shall be solely responsible for all sales taxes, or other taxes, on orders shipped to any other state or country.

Permission to Return and to Receive Credit

We will accept return of merchandise ONLY IF IN SALEABLE CONDITION and notification is within 7 days of receipt. We will Issue Credit to your account or Credit Card. For unwanted merchandise the cost of return shipping shall be the responsibility of the customer. Please refer to or Returns and Refunds policy for further details.

Damaged or Incorrect Merchandise

We will, upon your request, replace any merchandise that is received in damaged condition. No material will be accepted or replacements issued without prior approval to return such merchandise. Filing of claims will be our responsibility.
